This procedure measures fuel degradation, water content, particulate levels (Cleanliness) as well as identifying the presence of Diesel-Bugs.
Fuel-oil companies recommend a time limit of three months for storing biodiesel. Active treatment procedures should be implemented in cases where the fuel storage is a critical backup resource such as an emergency power generator system.
TankCare offers a comprehensive fuel testing service covering measurement and qualification. Fuel testing can be carried out either at the client’s premises or alternatively samples can be sent by post or courier.
Currently, we test fuel for the three most recognised types of contamination:
- Bacterial Contamination
- Water Contamination
- Particulate Contamination
Fuel tests should be carried out as soon as possible after the samples are taken since bacteria within the sample begin to die as soon as it’s exposed to daylight (UV). Samples will also be sensitive to change in ambient temperature.
